Busy again. Brian made the most of it before his return to Russia, Amanda did her usual fine spot, Paul the Original Stanley Fudjiteer brought his Gibson 335, and Spence had more of a rest than usual thanks to Trev and Alan.
A good night. Brian came back from Russia (that cost us a lot), and Mally came back from Oxford (we bought his tea; that cost even more).
Another quiet start which suddenly went bonkers. Darren, Sean and Neil from Matrix came down, Joe returned from wherever he'd been, and we had a fine performance of 'Ironic' from a Fudjit virgin, Sarah, who'd never been on a stage before.
What seemed as though it might be a quiet night turned into quite a stormer. Lyn was as Comfortably Numb as ever (we have evidence this week), Paul of the Original Stanley Fudjit wielded his magic SG again, and Fudjit virgin Graham rocked us with 'Blue Suede Shoes', which no-one on the stage had played before.
Kenny's amp failure last week was down to a blown output transformer, which is a very costly item (unless you happen to know a guy who works for Marshall). Rob and Neil from Kenny's band Blast came along and sat in on a couple. Lyn finally lost her Fudjit virginity, Paul joined the ranks of lead vocalists, and Fudjit went high-tech with Ian's synth pedals, all on the same song. (Alas, no photos.)
A quietish night tonight, partly because Kenny's amp packed up. A temporary backline was hastily assembled, with Kenny using Steve's combo into his own 4x12, and the second guitar using Ian's pedal-board into Paul's old H-H combo.
We had a new virgin Fudjiteer in the shape of guitarist Sean, who brought along a very nice Patrick Eggle Berlin.
